Cobras Seeking Third Straight Home Win Against Lions

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College women's basketball team will be back in the friendly confines of the DeLoach Center on Saturday (Dec. 13) afternoon to take on the visiting Mars Hill University Lions in a South Atlantic Conference matchup. The Cobras are coming off back-to-back home wins over SAC foe Queens and UNC Pembroke of the Peach Belt Conference.

The Navy and Yellow are led by senior Tanesha Stenson. She enters Saturday's matchup inside the top ten in numerous SAC offensive categories. Her 57.1 three-point percentage is second-best in the conference, while her 49.2 field goal percentage ranks sixth best in the conference. A team-leading 14.2 points per game is good enough for ninth in the conference. As a team, the Cobras are inside the top six of the conference in field goal and three-point field goal percentage.

The visiting Lions enter Saturday with a 3-4 overall record and a 1-3 mark in conference after suffering a 74-63 loss to Wingate. They are led by guards Camille Glymph and Paige Chavis, who are averaging 18.6 and 14.4 points per game, respectively this season.

Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. ,with the men's game following immediately afterwards at 4 p.m. Doors of the DeLoach Center will open at 1 p.m. Tickets are $15 for reserved seats, $5 dollars for adults, $3 dollars for students, and free for all Coker students, faculty and staff.
