Mullins Breaks 800-Meter Record, Faulkner Three Top-15 Finishes

COLUMBIA, S.C.- Striding through the wind and rain, the Coker College men's track and field team used split squads and pushed through at the Gamecock Invitational in Columbia, S.C. and at the Johnson C. Smith Invitational in Charlotte, N.C. Friday and Saturday, April 6-7. 

Brandon Mullins didn't have any rain on his parade today, setting a new Coker program record in the 800-meter with a time of 1:53.44 and a fourth place finish.

Jacob Chebii ran a top-10 race in the 5000-meter finishing seventh in 16:08.98, the third-best time at Coker.

Derrian Moreau picked up the fourth-fastest time for the program in the 110-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 15.58 seconds.

Meanwhile, Kace Faulkner competed at the Johnson C. Smith Invitational and competed in the hammer throw and javelin events. Faulkner threw for a distance of 123', good for a fifth place finish and second-best all-time at Coker. In the Javelin, Faulkner placed 11th with a throw of 120', third all-time for Coker men's track and field records.

Faulkner also participated in the discus event, posting a ninth place finish with a throw of 116', second-best all-time at Coker.

The Cobras will be in back in action on Friday and Saturday April 13-14 at the Aggie Invitational in Greensboro, N.C. Results from the event can be found by visiting www.cokercobras.com.
