Cobras Host Lions for Senior Day SAC Doubleheader

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College softball team will be back at home on Saturday (Apr. 23) to take on visiting Mars Hill University Lions in a pair of South Atlantic Conference matchups. Game one is set for a 2 p.m. start, with game two slated to start at 4 p.m. Live stats and broadcast can be found at www.cokercobras.com

The Cobras are led by corner infielders Maria Williamson and Ashley Gallman. Williamson leads the Cobras with 37 RBIs and seven home runs, while batting .291. Gallman comes in batting .322 with 24 RBIs, a team-high 13 doubles and three home runs. Juniors Tayler Barcomb and Riley Morris have 21 RBIs each, to go along with two triples apiece. Barcomb has belted four home runs and 11 doubles, while Morris is batting a team-high .373.

In the circle, Augusta Jackson leads the way for the Navy and Gold with six wins and a team-low 2.93 ERA.

Mars Hill comes in with a 15-26 overall record and a 6-14 SAC record. They are led by the 29 RBIs, five home runs and .337 batting average of Taylor Lail.

Saturday's games will be the regular season finale for the Cobras and senior day for the three seniors on Coker roster. 15 minutes before opening pitch, seniors Carylann Geddes, Corrine Stiles and Ashley Gallman will be honored.

First pitch is set for 2 p.m. from Saleeby-Stokes softball field, with gates opening at 1 p.m. Tickets for the game are available at the gate. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for students and all Coker faculty, staff and students get in free.
