Cobras Looking to Dethrone Royals in SAC Doubleheader

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College softball team will be back on the diamond of Saleeby-Stokes softball field on Wednesday (Mar. 25) for a South Atlantic Conference doubleheader against the visiting Queens University of Charlotte Royals. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. with live stats and broadcast available at www.cokercobras.com.

The Cobras are looking to improve on their 16-13 overall and 4-2 in conference record.

Riley Morris leads the offensive charge for the Navy and Yellow with team-highs in batting average (.457), RBIs (28) and home runs (7). Her batting average is second in the SAC, while her home run and RBI totals are third and seventh in conference. Ashley Gallman is batting a stout .388 at the dish with three home runs, nine doubles and 14 RBIs on the season, while Ashlee Ellen is batting .348 on the season with nine doubles and 21 RBIs. Ellen and Morris are both batting an even .500 in SAC matchups, as well.

Tabitha Allen will look to add to her 10 wins and 1.63 ERA.

The Royals travel to Hartsville with a 7-20 overall record and a 1-3 in conference record after going 1-1 against Tusculum College. They are led by Whitney Britt and her .344 batting average, 12 RBIs and three home runs.

Tickets for the game are available at the gate. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for students and all Coker faculty, staff and students get in free.
