Cobras Host Saints in Saturday Matinee

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College men's volleyball team (6-4) will be back at home on Saturday (Feb. 20) to take on the visiting Limestone College Saints. First serve is set for 2 p.m. with live stats and video available at www.cokercobras.com.

The Cobras have defended their home floor well so far this season, posting a 3-1 record in the friendly confines of the DeLoach Center, including wins in the last two.

The Coker attack is led by Artur Cabral, who has compiled a team-high 80 kills so far this season. Cabral is also averaging .53 service aces per set, which is good enough for tenth in the NCAA DI/DII. Joao Victor Santos has 52 kills through 23 sets this season and a team-high 27 digs. Triple threat Luke Hansen has belted 32 kills, dished out 64 assists and is 21st in the country with .42 service aces per set. Gabriel Castro is fourth in the country with .64 service aces per set, while Colton Parsons is seventh in the country with .57 service aces per set.

As a team, are ranked first in the NCAA DI/DII in service aces per set, with 2.63 service aces per set and 22nd in the country in blocks per set, thanks in large part to Luke Grupe who is ranked 11th in the country in blocks per set with 1.18 blocks per set.

The Saints come marching into Hartsville with a 4-5 overall record and a 3-4 record in Conference Carolinas play. They are led by Bruno Kretzschmar and his 147 kills this season. His 4.59 kills per set average ranks him third in the nation.

First serve is set for 2 p.m., with the doors of the DeLoach Center opening at 1 p.m. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and all Coker faculty, staff and students get in free.
