Cobras and Rams Clash in Midweek Tilt

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College men's volleyball returns home on Wednesday (Feb. 3) to take on the visiting Bluefield College Rams. First serve is set for 7 p.m. with live stats and video available at www.cokercobras.com.

The Cobras come into the matchup sporting a 4-3 overall record and a 2-1 record in the friendly confines of the DeLoach Center. They also earned a 3-0 win last year over the Rams in their only previous meeting.

Gabriel Castro, Artur Cabral and Luke Hansen all rank inside the top ten in service aces per set. Castro ranks fifth at .67 aces, Cabral ranks eighth with .6 aces and Hansen is tied for the ninth with .56 service aces per set. Cabral leads the Navy and Gold with 49 kills so far this season, after an 11-kill outburst against Limestone. Joao Victor Santos leads the Cobras averaging 2.56 kills per set to go along with a team-high 26 digs. Luke Grupe leads a Coker front line that ranks ninth in NCAA DI/DII with 2.36 blocks per set. Individually, Grupe ranks eighth in the country, averaging 1.19 blocks per set.

Bluefield travels to Hartsville with a 0-3 record.

First serve is set for 7 p.m. on Wednesday (Feb. 3) with the doors of the DeLoach Center opening at 6 p.m. Tickets are $5 dollars for adults, $3 dollars for students, and free for all Coker students, faculty and staff.
