COLUMBUS, OHIO. – The Coker College men's volleyball team fell in straight sets 3-0 on the road to the No. 7 ranked Ohio State University Buckeyes on Friday night (Jan. 22).

The first set was all Buckeyes as a 6-0 run out of the gates and a .500 hitting percentage led to a 25-11 opening set win.

The Cobras would show signs of life in the second set, opening up a 9-6 lead after a Joao Victor Santos kill. However, Ohio State stormed back and went on 12-0 run to swing the match back into their favor. They would go on to take the set 25-15 and take a 2-0 lead.

The third set was the tightest of the night with the neither team holding more than a five-point lead. Down 21-16 late in the set, the Navy and Gold used a 4-0 run to close the deficit to just one. The two teams exchanged the six points but it would be Ohio State capitalizing on a match point, giving them the third set win 25-23 and a 3-0 win.

Santos had a stellar night, clubbing 11 kills, which was tied for a match-high. Artur Cabral and Luke Hansen finished with five kills each, while Leshon Alexander totaled three kills. Aleksa Bijelic paced the offense with 20 assists.
