Cobras Host Bulldogs in Midweek Matchup

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College men's volleyball team will be looking to move its record to 4-0 on Tuesday (Jan. 19) when they take on the visiting Barton College Bulldogs at 7 p.m. Live stats and video will be available at www.cokercobras.com.

The Cobras return home after a successful two-game road trip where they scored wins over Lancaster Bible and Eastern Mennonite 3-0 and 3-1.

The Navy and Gold are led offensively by the Brazilian duo of Artur Cabral and Joao Victor Santos. Cabral comes into the match with a team-high 21 kills through nine sets of action, while Santos has 17 kills in seven sets. Defensively, the trio of Cabral, Leshon Alexander and Luke Grupe have 10 blocks each, while Santos has a team-high 13 digs. Luke Hansen and Aleksa Bijelic will look to continue and pace the offense, entering the match with 30 and 25 assists dished out so far this season.

The Bulldogs enter the matchup with a 1-2 record after losses to Pfeiffer and Limestone. They are led by the explosive offense of Vasilis Mandilaris and Pierre Tang-Taye. Mandilaris has 41 kills so far this season, while Tang-Taye has amassed 39.

First serve is set for 7 p.m. on Tuesday (Jan. 19) with the doors of the DeLoach Center opening at 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 dollars for reserved seats, $5 dollars for adults, $3 dollars for students, and free for all Coker students, faculty and staff.
