Coker and Limestone to Battle in Men's Volleyball Home Opener Thursday

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker men's volleyball team will take the court for its 2014 home opener on Thursday (Jan. 30) against the Limestone College Saints. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Coker's Timberlake-Lawton Gymnasium with live coverage of the match online at www.cokercobras.com.

The Cobras enter the match having defeated Eastern Mennonite 3-1 in their most recent outing. Luke Hansen, Leshon Alexander and Ricardo Ferrer led the way for Coker.  Hansen and Alexander knocked down 10 kills each and Ferrer handed out 36 assists with four service aces. As a team the Cobras are currently ranked No. 2 in the nation in aces per set, with an average 1.90 aces per set.

Limestone comes to Hartsville with a record of 5-2. They dropped their most recent contest to Barton College, 3-2. The Saints will be looking to Eric Zaun to lead them against the Cobras. The junior outside hitter leads Limestone in kills (103) and aces (12), and is second on the team in digs (53).

Tickets for Thursday's match can be purchased at the door for $5 dollars for adults, $3 dollars for students, and are free to all Coker students, faculty, and staff.
