HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker men's volleyball team was defeated 3-0 by the Saints of Limestone College Thursday (Jan. 30) night in men's collegiate volleyball action.
The Saints jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead by taking sets one and two 25-21 and 25-15, respectively. However, the Cobras would come out blazing in the third set taking an early 7-2 lead, but the Saints would rally and eventually take the set 25-23 and ultimately the game.
Leading the attack for the navy and yellow's was Jared Geizer with nine kills. Leshon Alexander and Luke Hansen chipped in six and five kills, respectively. Cooper Lyon led the defense with a team-high six digs, while Ricardo Ferrer had a game-high 32 assists.
The Cobras will hit the road this weekend (Jan. 31-Feb. 1) as they take part in the 2014 Lindenwood University Tournament. Coker will play three games over the two days and open the tournament with McKendree University on Friday (Jan. 31) night.
