Cobras Drop Non-Conference Matchup to Mocs

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College men's soccer team fell 4-1 to the visiting Florida Southern College Moccasins in Sunday (Sept. 11) afternoon's non-conference match.

The Mocs jump out of the gates early, scoring goals in the 15th, 17th and 40th minute to take a 3-0 lead into the half.

Aladdin Elfares found the back of the net off a penalty kick in the 80th minute, notching his second goal of the season. Florida Southern added another goal in the 87th minute to secure the 4-1 road win.

Elfares led the way with one goal, one shot on goal and three total shots. Alvaro Urena finished with four shots, including one on goal. Chris Bordelon, Jacob Simonis and Jaedon Williamson each record a shot on goal.

Michael Ritterbeck picked up his first lost of the season. He recorded seven saves on the afternoon.

The Cobras will back in action on Wednesday (Sept. 14) when they take on the visiting Anderson University Trojans in their South Atlantic Conference opener. Opening kick is set for 7 p.m.
