Cobras Host Moccasins in Non-Conference Matchup

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College men's soccer team will return to the friendly confines of the Coker College Athletic Field on Sunday (Sept. 11) to face the visiting Florida Southern College Moccasins in a matchup for slithering supremacy. Opening kick is set for 3:30 p.m. with live stats and video available at www.cokercobras.com.

The Cobras enter the matchup with a 1-0-1 record, after picking up a 2-1 victory over Chowan on Wednesday (Sept. 7).

Aladdin Elfares, Grant Sicard and Alvaro Urena all have one goal on the season to lead the offensive attack for the Navy and Gold. Between the pipes, Michael Ritterbeck has allowed just two goals in 200 minutes, collecting 14 saves in the process.

The Moccasins travel to Hartsville sporting an even 1-1 record after falling to South Atlantic Conference foe Mars Hill, 2-1 in overtime. They are led by Jacob Ling-Vannerus and his two goals on the season. Florian Thumm enters the matchup with one goal and two assists.

Opening kick is set for 3:30 p.m., with the gates of the Coker Athletic Field opening at 2:30 p.m. Tickets for the match are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
