Cobras Looking to Ground Flying Fleet on Saturday

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker Cobras will host the Flying Fleet of Erskine College in a Conference Carolinas men's soccer showdown on Saturday evening (Oct. 13). The match will be video streamed live online and can be viewed at www.cokercobras.com.

Coker enters the match having won seven of their last eight, including their last three in a row. Their most recent victory came against Belmont Abbey on Wednesday. The Cobras defeated the Crusaders 1-0 thanks to a game-winning header by Niko Tirkkonen. The goal was Tirkkonen's fourth game-winner of the season. Goalkeeper James Sweeney earned his third clean sheet of the season in the win and the Cobras improved to 8-3 overall and 4-1 in league play.

Erskine comes into the match with a 4-1-1 conference record. They defeated Lees-McRae 1-0 in their last conference match, but most recently were unable to add to the win column with a non-conference tie to USC-Aiken (1-1) and loss to Lander (3-0).

Kick-off between the Cobras and the Fleet is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Coker Soccer Field.
