Coker Men's Golf in Seventh After Opening Round of Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate

SUNSET BEACH, N.C. – The Coker College men's golf team carded an opening round team score of 294 on day one of the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate. The Cobras sit in seventh place going into the final 18 holes. 

Wanjoo Lee and Ethan Cairns led the way for the Navy and Gold. The pair of sophomores fired rounds of even-par 72, leaving both in a tie for thirteenth on the individual leaderboard. Taylor Ingle carded a round of 74 on day one, leaving him inside the top-25 individually. Will Bundy signed off on a round of 76, while freshman Nicholas Beiers shot a round of 77 to round out the Coker starting lineup.

Duke University's "B" team is atop the team leaderboard after firing a team score of 275. The Cobras find themselves just seven strokes back of second place North Greenville University. Belmont Abbey's Nick Stafford and Duke's Adam Wood and Alexander Matlari are the individual overnight leaders after rounds of 67.

Final round tee times will begin Tuesday (Oct. 5) morning from the Panther's Run Course at Ocean Ridge Plantation.
