Cobras Tied for Lead After Day One of Queens Invitational; Cairns and Ingle in Top Five Individually

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. – The Coker College men's golf team is tied at the top of the leaderboard after day one of the Queens University Invitational. The Cobras shot an opening round team score of 290 and is tied with Queens University going into the final 18 holes. 

Four members of the Navy and Gold are inside the top 25 individually, lead by Ethan Cairns and Taylor Ingle. Cairns fired his third-consecutive sub-par round, carding a one-under round of 70. His round leaves him in third place individually. Ingle signed off on an even-par round of 71 and is in a tie for fourth. Will Bundy is in a tie for 15th on the individual leaderboard after shooting an opening round of 74. Wanjoo Lee carded a round of 75 in the opening 18 holes and he is in a tie for 23rd position overall. Daniel Graves rounded things out for the Cobras, shooting a round of 82 on day one.

The Cobras are tied at the top of the team leaderboard with the host, Queens University of Charlotte. Forrest Fowler of Anderson University and James Medley of UNC Charlotte are the overnight individual leaders. Both carded rounds of 69 on Monday.

Tuesday's (Sept. 20) final round will begin at 9 a.m. at The Club at Irish Creek.
