Coker Men’s Golf Places Thirteenth at Newberry College Invitational

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The Coker College men's golf team finished in 13th place at the Newberry College Invitational held at the Ocean Course on Kiawah Island. The Cobras rallied after an opening day score of 336 to shoot rounds of 313 and 314 to finish with a three round total of 963.

The Navy and Yellow were led by Alex Rios and Will Bundy. Rios shot rounds of 80, 76 and 80 for a 54-hole score of 236. Bundy rebounded after an opening round 83 to fire rounds of 79 and 76 on day two. Blake Baysden finished with a two-day score of 243 after rounds of 85, 80 and 78. Jonathan Sundstrom and John Duke finished with totals of 250 and 251. Sundstrom shot rounds of 78 and 80 after an opening round of 92, while Duke shot rounds of 88, 81 and 82.

Limestone College captured the team title with a team score of 913. University of Mount Olive's Sebastian Andersen took home the individual title with a score of 218.

Coker will be back in action on Monday (Feb. 23) as they will travel to Savannah, Ga. for the Pirate Invitational hosted by Armstrong Atlantic State University.
