Men's Basketball Hosts Emmanuel for Fangs United Game

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College men's basketball team will host the Emmanuel College Lions on Tuesday (Nov. 14) night in their home opener at 7 p.m. In addition to being the Cobras home opener, Tuesday's contest will be a Fangs United Game. All Coker student-athletes are encouraged to attend and cheer on the Cobras. The first 50 students who check-in at the Snake Pit will receive a "Welcome to the Snake Pit" t-shirt.

The Navy and Gold are coming off a 1-1 performance from last week. Last Saturday (Nov. 11), the Cobras earned their first victory of the season with a 74-63 win over Erskine in the SAC/Conference Carolinas Challenge. The Navy and Gold outscored Erskine 41-31 in the second half of action to secure their first victory of the season. Offensively, the Cobras were led by Khalil Halls, who recorded a team-best 25 points. Donte Samuels collected a team-high 11 rebounds, while adding eight points on the offensive end. 

On the season, Halls leads Coker offensively, averaging 22.5 points per game. Samuels is second on the team in scoring, averaging 15 points per game, and has a team-high 7.5 rebounds per game. 

Emmanuel enters tomorrow's game with a 0-2 record. The Lions have dropped games to North Georgia (102-92 OT) and Georgia College (95-86). Elijah Robinson leads Emmanuel on the offensive end, averaging 25 points per game. 

As mentioned, opening tip is set for 7 p.m. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students, and free to all Coker faculty, staff, and students.
