HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College men's basketball team fell 62-55 in a low-scoring affair to the visiting Catawba College Indians on Wednesday evening (Jan. 27) in South Atlantic Conference play.

The first 20 minutes saw neither team pull away by more than six-points lead at any time, with the halftime score in favor of Catawba, 31-25.

The Cobras came out and cut the deficit to just two at the under 16 media timeout, after a brief 8-4 run. After the two teams traded buckets, a quick 5-0 run by Catawba opened the lead to nine points, its largest of the evening. The Cobras would manage to cut the deficit to four points three times down the stretch, thanks to a pair of Aubrey Daniel threes, however the Navy and Gold would get no closer than four and Catawba would take home the 62-55 road win.

Daniel led the way with a game-high 14 points, nine of which came from behind the arc. Donte Samuels finished with a near double double, with nine points and 10 rebounds. Jalen Watson snatched down a game-high 12 rebounds to go along with eight points and three steals. Stefan Osborne also had eight points and Roman Hall finished with seven points.

The Cobras will down begin a two-game road trip on Saturday when they travel to Brevard for a SAC matchup with the Tornados. Opening tip is set for 4 p.m.
