Coker Narrowly Defeated by Newberry 90-88

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – All five Cobra starters scored double-digit points in Coker's 90-88 loss to the Newberry Wolves on Wednesday (Nov. 19) night in South Atlantic Conference men's basketball action.

Errick Bethel led all scorers with 24 points and had three assists, while Larry Felder netted 21 points with nine rebounds, three assists and a block. Donte Samuels added 15 points and seven boards, and Aubrey Daniel scored 10 points and pulled down five rebounds. Trey Marshall rounded out the Cobra starters with 10 points, two rebounds and five assists.

It was a tightly contested contest from start to finish with 14 lead changes and 14 ties. Newberry led by as much as 10 points in the second half, while the Coker held as much as a seven point lead during the first half of action.

The Cobras out shot the Wolves from the field, hitting 55 percent (33-60) of their shots compared to just 48.6 percent (34-70) for the Wolves. Coker also held the advantage on three-point shooting, knocking down 47.1 percent (8-17) of their shots from long range.
