Cobras Slay Knights 87-73

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Junior guard Julian Nelson scored a game high 22 points in Coker's 87-73 win over St. Andrews University on Saturday afternoon. The non-conference win improves the Cobras to a 4-4 record.

For the second consecutive game the Cobras led wire-to-wire, allowing the Knights to tie the game just twice. Coker clung to a narrow 37-36 lead at the break, but exploded for 50 points in the second half, 18 of which came from Nelson. As a team the Cobras shot 52.4 percent from the field and 68.4 percent from the charity stripe. 

Sophomore Larry Felder added 14 points and eight rebounds, while seniors Sharod Williams and Austin Harper had 12 point each. Williams also pulled down eight boards.

Coker returns to the court for a Conference Carolinas game on Thursday, Jan. 3 at home. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. following the women's game at 5:30 p.m.
