Cobras Set for Series Clash with Lions

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker baseball will host South Atlantic Conference foe Mars Hill for a three-game series this weekend (April 8-9).

The Cobras defeated Claflin on Wednesday in non-conference action 15-10. Five Cobras recorded multiple hits, highlighted by Thomas Lopez's 3-4 day which featured two doubles, four RBI's and three runs scored. Will Winslow went 2-3 and scored three times, while Jack Leech went 2-5 knocking his second homer of the year. Miguel Frias posted a 2-3 day collecting four RBI's, and Ryan Wayne went 2-2 with a double and three runs knocked in.

Coker is 23-14 on the year with an 8-7 mark in conference play. Winslow owns a .378 batting average, good for the team lead and 10th in the conference. Right-hander Dallas Baldwin is fourth in the conference with a 2.98 earned run average.

Mars Hill comes into the series with a 24-14 overall record and a 9-9 mark in SAC competition. Offensively they are led by Evan Rogers who is hitting .382 on the year, good for eighth in the conference. 

First pitch on Friday is set for 3:00 p.m. at Tom J. New Field. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
