Cobras Drop Series Opener to Pioneers

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College baseball team fell 10-3 in game one of their three-game SAC series on Friday (Apr. 3) to the visiting Tusculum Pioneers.

Six runs through the second, third and fourth innings for Tusculum would be the deciding factor as the Cobras failed to respond until a three-run ninth inning.

Bryson Conner and Will Winslow led the charge for the Navy and Yellow. Both went 2-for-4 at the plate. Jack Leech and Dustin Russell each went 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Forrest Arnold was hit with the loss. He gave up seven runs on 10 hits in six innings of work.

The Cobras will wrap up the three-game series Saturday (Apr. 4) with games two and three slated for a noon and 3 p.m. starts at Tom J. New Field.
