CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Three Cobra men’s cross country runners ran sub 30 minute times, while leading Coker to an 11th place finish at the 2010 Royals Cross Country Challenge at McAlpine Park in Charlotte, N.C. on Friday afternoon.

Austin McJunkins (Walhalla, S.C.) (29:30), Quinn Wegener (Sumter, S.C.) (29:44) and Joel Bristol (Palm Bay, Fla.) (29:45) ran their best times of the season during the 8k event. Britian Tomlinson (Rock Hill, S.C.) and Thad Sulek (Hilton Head, S.C.) also had exceptional runs, finishing at 30:10 and 31:53 respectively.

In the women’s 5k race, Kendyl Seawright (Manalapan, N.J.) placed eighth with a time of 20:07, while Alex Ochoa (Pamplico, S.C.) finished at 22:18. Caitlyn Driscoll (Grand Island, N.Y.) came in at 22:28 and Aliese Gregory (Aiken, S.C.) and Ashley Meador (Union, S.C.) finished at 23:12 and 23:30 respectively.

As a team the Cobra women finished 10th in the event.

The Cobras will now prepare for one of their biggest meets of the season, the 2010 Conference Carolinas Championship. Luckily for Coker they will not be running a course they do not know; the 2010 championship will be held at McAlpine Park in Charlotte, N.C. on Saturday, November 6.
