ORLANDO, Fla. - The Coker Cross Country teams had a promising showing at the 2010 Disney World Classic Meet on Saturday. In a field of nearly 200 runners, the Cobras ran some of their best times of the season. The Cobra men placed 17th, while the Cobra women placed 22nd.

Leading the men was senior Austin McJunkins (Walhalla, S.C.) with his best time of the season in a 8k race, 29:42. Quinn Wegner (Sumter, S.C.) followed with a time of 30:14 and Joel Bristol (Palm Bay, Fla.) came in at 30:27. Britian Tomlinson (Rock Hill, S.C.) and Thad Sulek (Hilton Head, S.C.) rounded out the Cobra runners with times of 20:27 and 31:19 respectively.

In the women’s race, Kendyl Seawright (Manalapan, N.J.) came in at 20:11, while Ashlyn Barnwell (York, S.C.) finished with a time of 22:07. Alex Ochoa (Pamplico, S.C.) was next at 22:26, followed by Aliese Gregory (Aiken, S.C.) at 22:59. Caitlyn Driscoll (Grand Island, N.Y.), Ashley Meador (Union, S.C.) and Angela Williams (Johnston, S.C.) finished out the Cobra runners with times of 23:16, 24:34 and 26:29 respectively.

The Cobra runners will now take a week to prepare of their next race on October 15, the Royals Cross Country Challenge hosted by Queens University of Charlotte.
