Charleston, S.C. – The Coker Cross Country teams hit the trails on Saturday in the 30th Annual Wil Wilson Citadel Invitational at James Island County Park. In the combined Division I and Division II event the Cobra men placed ninth, while the Cobra women placed eighth.

Kendyl Seawright (Manalapan, N.J.) placed sixth overall in the women’s meet with a time of 20:17, followed by Ashlyn Barnwell (York, S.C.) at 22:40. Alex Ochoa (Pamplico, S.C.) was next at 23:16 and Aliese Gregory (Aiken, S.C.) came in at 23:40. Rounding out the field for the Cobra runs in the 5K race were Caitlyn Driscoll (Grand Island, N.Y.) (24:54), Ashley Meador (Union, S.C.) (27:44) and Anglea Williams (Johnston, S.C.) (29:55).

In the men’s race, Austin McJunkins (Walhalla, S.C.) led the way in the 8K meet for the Cobras with a Top 50 finish at 32:42, while Britain Tomlinson (Rock Hill, S.C.) finished at 33:42 and Quinn Wegner (Sumter, S.C.) came in at 34:09. The Cobras newest runner Joel Bristol (Palm Bay, Fla.) came in at 35:21 followed by Thad Sulek (Hilton Head, S.C.) at 43:50.

The Cobra runners will now prepare for their next meet on October 9 at the Disney Classic in Orlando, Fla.
