Hartsville, S.C. – After competing in the 2008 Conference Carolinas Championship meet on Saturday, three Coker College cross country runners received All-Conference recognition; Kendyl Seawright (Manalapan, NJ), Justin Gragg (Lenoir, NC) and Michael Murphy (Peekskill, NY).

Seawright was the only female runner to receive All-Conference honors for the Cobras, placing fifth overall in the meet with a time of 20:01 in the 5k event. Kendyl’s time was good enough to have her named First Team All-Conference.

Gragg and Murphy became the first Cobra men’s runners since 2006 to be named to an All-Conference Team. Both runners were named to the All-Conference Honorable Mention Team with 12th and 13th place finishes and times of 28:17 and 28:25 respectively.

Both of the Coker Cross Country teams will now prepare to take on the Southeast Region at Wingate University on Nov. 8, at the Southeast Regional Meet, with the top four individual runners and top four teams, advancing to the NCAA Division II National Meet in Slippery Rock, PA, on Nov. 21.
