Hartsville, S.C. – The Coker College Cross Country teams competed in the Pre-Region meet at Wingate University on Saturday, with the women placing 11th out of 16 teams and the men placing 9th out of 12 teams. Kendyl Seawright (Manalapan, NJ) was the highest finisher individually, as she placed second overall in the women’s 6k event with a time of 25:01, while on the men’s side, Michael Murphy (Peekskill, NY) placed 24th overall with a time of 36:13 in the 10k run.

Following Seawright were Dana Daves (York, SC) with a time of 28:26, with Shannon Townley (Anniston, AL) at 28:56. Caitlyn Driscoll (Grand Island, NY) with a time 29:05, she was followed by Angela Williams (Johnston, SC) with a time of 30:30. Alex Ochoa (Pamplico, SC), Nicole Coke (Summerville, SC) and Amy Jones (Hurricane, WV) finished with times of 31:11, 33:03 and 33:28 respectively. As a team, the Lady Cobras placed better than fellow Conference Carolinas schools, Limestone, Erskine and Barton.

On the men’s side, following Murphy was Justin Gragg (Lenoir, NC) with a time of 38:03, while Adam Green (Easley, SC) finished with a time of 40:22. Austin McJunkin (Walhalla, SC) was next with time of 45:47, with Chase Horton (Bethune, SC) coming in at 47:41. As a team the men out ran Limestone and Pfeiffer.

Coker will now prepare for their next meet on September 27, at Augusta State University, the Jaguar Invitational.
