Columbia, SC- The Coker College Men’s Cross Country Team opened their 2007 season with a second place finish in the Division II bracket of the Gamecock Invitational on Friday afternoon. The Cobras came in just two points behind the Braves of UNC-Pembroke, while defeating Francis Marion University by four points.

Individually for the Cobras, Adam Green/Easley, SC, led the way with a third place finish at a time of 16:53, while Michael Murphy/Peekskill, NY, came in with a fifth place finish at 17:00. Next for the Cobras was Andrew Smith/Orlando, FL, in eighth place with a time of 17:21, followed by Abel Caballo/Orlando, FL, in 11th place at 17:50. Austin Mcjunkins/Wallhalla, SC, finished in 13th at 17:59, followed by Joseph Hock/Myrtle Beach, SC, in 15th place at 18:48. Rounding out the Cobras were Chris Briggman and Michael Koshis/Greenville, SC, in 18th and 19th place with times of 20:05 and 20:08 respectively.

The Cobras next meet is the Pre-Conference Carolinas meet at converse College in Spartanburg, SC, on Saturday, September 8.
