Myrtle Beach, SC- On Saturday, February 16, 2008, members of the Coker College men’s and women’s cross country teams competed in the Dasani Myrtle Beach Half Marathon.

The Cobras were well represented with women’s runner, Kendyl Seawright (Manalapan, NJ) placing fifth overall in the women’s division and first place in the 20-24 age group with a time of 1:28.37, while men’s runner, Michael Murphy (Peekskill, NY) placed sixth overall in the men’s division and was second in the 15-19 age group with a time of 1:16.38. Adam Green (Easley, SC) was the only other Cobra to receive an award, placing 18th overall in the men’s division, and was second in 20-24 age group with a time of 1:21.56.

As for the rest of the Coker runners, in the women’s division, Shannon Townley (Anniston, AL) placed 45th with a time of 1:43.07, followed by Dana Daves (York, SC) with a time of 1:50.16 in 107th place. Adrianna Ochoa (Pamplico, SC) placed 199th with a time of 1:56.38, while Nicole Coke (Summerville, SC) also finished at 1:56.38.

In the men’s race, Joe Hock (Surfside Beach, SC) placed 77th at 1:30.13, with Abel Carballo (Orlando, FL) and Michael Koshis (Greenville, SC) placing 136th and 281st with times of 1:35.15 and 1:43.30 respectively.
