Spartanburg, SC- On Saturday, the Coker College Cross Country Teams competed in the Eye Opener Meet hosted by USC-Upstate. In the Division II Men’s Bracket, Coker finished eighth out of 17 teams, while the Cobra women finished 11th out of 22 teams. Anderson University was the winner of the men’s division and Milligan College took home the women’s championship.

 

Individually for the women in the 5k race, Kendyl Seawright/Manalapa, NJ, was the leader with a time fo 21:17 in 38th place, while Shannon Townley/Anniston, AL, finished 47th with a time of 21:41. Monica Taylor/Lexington, SC, had a time of 21:55, followed by Nicole Coke/Summerville, SC, at 22:32 and Dana Daves/York, SC, at 22:43. Rounding out the Cobra runners were Amy Jones/Hurricane, WV, and Noellle Sharbono/Pembroke Pines, FL, with times of 24:02 and 24:29 respectively.

 

The Cobras next meet will be on Saturday, September 15, as they travel to Wingate University for the Pre-Regional Meet.
