Spartanburg, SC- On Saturday, the Coker College Cross Country Teams competed in the Eye Opener Meet hosted by USC-Upstate. In the Division II Men’s Bracket, Coker finished eighth out of 17 teams, while the Cobra women finished 11^th out of 22 teams. Anderson University was the winner of the men’s division and Milligan College took home the women’s championship.

Individually for the men in the 8k race, Michael Murphy/Peekskill, NY, led the way in 18^th place with a time of 27:38, followed by Abel Carballo/Orlando, FL, in 29^th place with a time iof 28:18. Adam Green/Easley, SC, was next in 34^th place at 28:36, while Andrew Smith/Orlando, FL, was 46^th with a time of 29:19. Austin McJunkin/Walhalla, SC, Joe Hock/Surfside Beach, SC, and Chris Briggman/Columbia, SC, rounded out the field for Coker with times of 29:40, 31:19 and 34:44 respectively.

The Cobras next meet will be on Saturday, September 15, as they travel to Wingate University for the Pre-Regional Meet.
