Hartsville, SC- Coker College Head Cross country Coach, Ley Fletcher, announced the signing of 10 new runners for the 2007-2008 season. Six of the new faces will joint eh men’s team, while the other four will be joining the women’s squad. “I’m very excited to have these runners join us this year,” said Coach Fletcher. “I hope that with their help we can continue to grow and improve, while hopefully bringing home a conference championship in the future.”

 

On the women’s side, Kendyle Seawright, Nicole Coker, Alex Ochoa and Angela Williams will all be joining the Cobras in the fall.

 

Seawright is a native of Manalapan, NJ, and is transferring to Coker from Florida Southern University. Her best 5k time is 19:50.

 

Coke joins the Cobras from Summerville High School in Summerville, SC. Coke’s best 5k time is 21:30.

 

Ochoa is a native of Pamplico, SC, where she attended Hanna-Pamplico High School and ran cross country. Her best 5k time is 22:30.

 

Williams is the lone walk-on on the Coker Team, she is a native of Columbia, SC.

 

The Coker Cross Country Teams kick-off their season on August 31, when they travel to Columbia, SC, for the Gamecock Invitational. The Cobra men will be looking to defend their 2006 title, while the women will be looking to improve on their second place performance.
