Columbia, SC- In their first meet of the 2006 season, the Coker Cobra Cross Country Teams are definitely on the right track, as the men won the Gamecock Invitational and the women came in second place. The Gamecock Invitational is a 5k race, the only one the Cobras will run this season.

 

The men’s team came in first place with 37 points defeating the Savannah College of Art and Design (68), Francis Marion (77), Benedict (81) and UNC-Pembroke (87). Individually David Green came in second with a time of 16:20, followed by Sam Githinji at 16:34 in fourth place. Next was Kevin Ganiel came in sixth place at 16:39 and then Tyler Carroll in 11th place at 17:09. Adam Green and Esteban Teran were next 14th and 21st place and times of 17:31 and 18:55 respectively. Michael Koshis rounded out the Coker men in 22nd place and a time of 19:45.

 

The Cobra runners will prepare for their next meet on Saturday, September 9, when they compete in the CVAC pre-conference meet in Spartanburg, SC.
