Cary, NC- On Saturday, September 24, the Coker College Cross Country Teams competed in the Great American Invite Meet in Cary, NC and Coach Ley Fletcher was very please with the way his guys performed at the meet. “We had our best meet on the men's side since I have been at Coker College we ran against some of the best junior college, NAIA, and NCAA Division II teams in the country.  We beat two teams ranked in front of us in the region, # 1 ranked Mars Hill, and # 5 ranked Anderson and we defeated them both.”

 

The Cobra Men finished fifth overall and were led by junior David Green/Easley, SC, who finished in ninth place with a time of 26:50 for the 8k race. Green was followed closely by his teammate Nathan Hansen/Montgomery, AL, who finished in tenth place just six seconds behind Green with a time of 26:56. As for the rest of the men Tyler Carroll/Birmingham, AL, finished at 28:07, Adam Green/Easley, SC, had a time of 29:16, Jermaine Copper/Irmo, SC, finished at 29:36, followed by Alex Kornfeld/Greenville, SC, at 29:53 and Britt Means at 31:01 and Blake Means at 32:45 by from Irmo, SC.

 

The Cobra Cross Country Teams next meet is the Disney Cross Country Classic in Orlando, FL on October 8.
