Cobras Take Down the Crusaders

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker College women's volleyball team went head-to-head with the Crusaders of Belmont Abbey College today (Sept. 26). The Cobras took three sets from the visitors, pulling out the victory in the fourth (22-25, 25-19, 25-19, 25-19), for a 3-1 win.

Within the first point, Kara Overholt surpassed the 1,000 dig mark for her career, becoming the fifth player in Cobra history to reach the four-digit sum. Madison Bingle takes sole possession of seventh on the all-time Coker record book for digs with her nine digs on the night and tenth on the service ace list by adding one to her total. Christen Bragg was nearly perfect with four kills on five attacks and dishing out 37 assists. Taylor du Bray led the offensive strike, compiling a double-double of 12 kills and 12 digs. Alexis Berles had double-digit kills against the Crusaders, totaling 10. Chloe Attram had her way at the net, blocking four solo and one assisted. Annie Mansfield added two solo blocks to the Cobra defensive attack.

As a team, the Cobras finished with 11 total blocks and 44 kills.

The Cobras hit the road for two South Atlantic Conference matches this weekend. They take on the Mars Hill University Lions Friday (Sept. 29) at 7:00 p.m. and the Pioneers of Tusculum College Saturday (Sept. 30) at 2:00 p.m.
