Cobras to Host SAC Doubleheader this Weekend

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker women's volleyball team will host a South Atlantic Conference doubleheader this weekend as they face the Lincoln Memorial University Railsplitters and Carson-Newman University Eagles. The Cobras will face-off with the Railsplitters at 7 p.m. on Friday (Sept. 27) and will turn around and play the Eagles at 1 p.m. on Saturday (Sept. 28). Both matches will be broadcast live online at www.cokercobras.com.

The women are coming off a four-match road trip, which ended with a tough 3-0 loss to Catawba College last Saturday (Sept. 21).

Freshman Amanda Harris has paced the offense for the Cobras through their first 12 matches. Harris has tallied 67 kills, 11 service aces, and 80 digs on the season.

Lincoln Memorial comes to Hartsville with a 7-5 overall record and a 3-1 mark in conference play. The Railsplitters are coming off a 3-1 win over fellow SAC member Tusculum, and are led by Brooke Fleeman who has 103 kills on the season.

Carson-Newman enters the weekend at 6-5 with a 1-3 conference record. The Eagles are coming off back-to-back SAC losses against Newberry and Anderson, and will play Wingate (Sept. 27) before facing the Cobras on Saturday. The Eagles are led by Rachel Harper and her 148 kills on the year.

Tickets for both matches are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
