Cobras Come Up Short Against Royals

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Catie Truzzolino and Taylor Willis knocked down 15 and 12 kills respectively in the Cobra women's volleyball team's 3-2 loss to Queens University of Charlotte on Friday night in Conference Carolinas women's volleyball action.

In front of a lively crowd in their home opener, the Cobras battled their way back from a two-match deficit with a 25-21 win in the third set and a thrilling 26-24 victory in the fourth set.  The Royals were able to pick up wins in the opening two sets with scores of 25-22 and 25-16, before winning the fifth and final set 15-9.

In addition to Truzzolino and Willis's offensive leadership, April Griggs added nine kills to the Coker total, while Samantha Celek had 45 assists. Brittany Bass had a match leading 17 digs and Hannah Cabaniss had 12 digs.

Coker will be back in action again on Saturday at home against conference foe Pfeiffer University.  The match is scheduled to start at 12:30 p.m.
