BELMONT, NC -The Belmont Abbey volleyball team fell 3-1 to visiting Coker this evening at the Wheeler Center. Game scores were 19-30, 30-28, 23-30 and 29-31. Coker improves to 16-13 overall and 13-4 in Conference Carolinas, while the Abbey slips to 8-22 overall and 6-12 in Conference Carolinas.

Offensively, the Abbey was led by freshman Emily Frohnapfel's 13 kills, while Jennifer Angelich and Sydney Steffen each added 11. Jessica Bennett tallied ten. Setter Allison Smith handed out 40 assists to go along with 14 digs. Senior libero Monica Halligan led the defense with 30 digs. Frohnapfel finished with four block solos and three block assists.

Coker was led by Megan Haupt's 26 kills, while Natalie Schembra added 19 and Margaret Madison tallied 17. Kristin Teets finished with 13. Setter Megan Gordon handed out 51 assists, and Courtney Butrym added 19.

Haupt and Schembra both led the Cobras with 18 digs and Kelsey Carlson finished with 17.

Coker returns to the court on Saturday, as they travel to Limestone College for a 2:00 p.m. match.
