Valdosta, GA- The Coker Volleyball Team finished their final day of play at the Valdosta State Volleyball Tournament, in the dame way they entered the tournament. The Lady Cobras completed Saturday’s play with a loss to St. Leo 3-0 and a loss to Valdosta State 3-2.

 

In their first match of the day Coker lost in three straight games 30-24, 30-23 and 30-20 to St. Leo. Unfortunately for the Cobras, they were unable to pull out a victory in their final match of the tournament, falling to host Valdosta State 30-21, 30-28 and 16-14. Coker was able to force their match against Valdosta to five games, as they won games three and four by scores of 30-27 and 30-26.

 

Leading Coker on the day was Margaret Madison with 22 kills, 14 digs and 5 aces in two matches, while Megan Haupt had 21 kills and 29 digs. Natalie Schembra had 25 digs and 10 kills on the day, and Tara Nelson had 76 assists and 15 digs, while Kelsey Carlson added 36 digs.

 

Coker (2-6, 1-0 CVAC) will take on CVAC foe Mount Olive in their next match on Tuesday, at Mount Olive at 6:30 p.m.
