Hartsville, SC- In a back and forth grudge match, the Coker Volleyball Team came out victorious over the Barton College Bulldogs in collegiate volleyball Thursday night. The Cobras won the match in four games with scores of 30-25, 25-30, 30-22 and 30-15.

 

Leading the way for the Cobras was senior Andrea Manuel/Spartanburg, SC, with 19 kills, 20 digs and 4 blocks. Sophomore Margaret Madison/Savannah, GA, had 15 kills, 9 blocks and 2 aces, while junior Tara Nelson/Rochester Hills, MI, had 26 assists and 11 kills. Sophomore Courtney Butrym/Irmo, SC, also chipped in with 22 assists and freshman Kelsey Carlson/Oswego, IL, had 18 digs.

 

For Barton Keauna Vinson/Zebulon, NC, and Michelle Walker/Benson, NC, each had 12 kills, while Kari Poling/Reed City. MI, had a double double with 31 assists and 11 digs on the night.

 

The Cobra Volleyball Team’s next match is versus conference opponent Pfieffer University on Saturday, October 8, at 4 p.m.
