Hartsville, SC- The Coker volleyball team came out strong winning the first game against Lees-McRae 30-27 on Saturday. But Coker was not strong enough, as Lees-McRae battled back and took the next three games and the match. The Bobcats won with scores of 30-19, 30-28 and 30-17.

 

The Cobras were led by senior Andrea Manuel/ Spartanburg, SC, who had 13 kills and 15 digs in the match. Sophomore Margaret Madison/Savannah, GA, had 9 kills for the Cobras and freshman Kelsey Carlson/Oswego, IL had 19 digs.

 

Lacie Smith, Olivia Luce and Amanda Huffaker were the kill leaders for Lees-McRae with 15, 14 and 11 kills respectively. The Bobcat’s Valia Petrova had 46 assists in the match, while Smith also had 21 digs in the victory.

 

The Cobra volleyball team will host cross town rival Francis Marion on Wednesday, September 21, in the Coker College Timberlake-Lawton Gymnasium at 6:30 p.m.
