
Cobra Women Earn Shutout Win Over Brevard on Sunday
The Cobras picked up a big win to open South Atlantic Conference play on Sunday.

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker women's tennis shut out Brevard 9-0 and open South Atlantic Conference play with a win on Sunday (Feb. 5).
Jennifer Mezei and Jennifer Ruetten picked up an 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles to start things off. Mezei would win at No.1 singles in straight sets 6-0, 6-1, while Ruetten picked up a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 2 singles.
Suzanna Mickey and Sarah Elliott earned an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles, while Mickey won 8-1 at No. 4 singles. Elliott won via shutout 8-0 at No. 6 singles.
Julia Sorrells and Jenna Gainey won 8-0 at No. 3 doubles, and both girls picked up wins in singles play. Sorrells won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles, while Gainey won 8-1 at No. 5 singles.
The Cobras will travel to Sumter for the weekend (Feb. 10-12) to compete in a tournament hosted by The Citadel. Play is set to start at 10:00 a.m.
