HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker women's tennis team picked up a non-conference win on Sunday (Feb. 24) defeating Johnson C. Smith 6-3.

The Cobras opened the match with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. The pairing of Daniela Chipe and Anna Musiyenko were victorious at No. 1, winning 9-8 (7-4), while Faith Baxley and Brittanny Yando won at No. 3, 8-5.

Chipe, Musiyenko and Baxley carried their solid play into their singles matches where they were also victorious. Chipe won 6-2, 7-5 at No.1, while Musiyenko earned a pair of 6-2 wins at No. 2. Baxley was nearly flawless at No. 5, winning 6-1, 6-0. Jessi Campos earned Coker's fourth win in singles play with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 3.

The Cobras return to the courts on Saturday (March 2) when they host the Bobcats of Lees-McRae in their first Conference Carolinas match of the season at 2 p.m.
