Cobra Women Shutout King

BRISTOL, Tenn. – In a weather shortened match, the Coker women's tennis team earned a shutout victory, 5-0, over King College on Saturday. The win improves the Cobras to 3-3 overall and 2-0 in Conference Carolinas play.

Coker swept the three doubles matches, winning 8-2 at both No.1 and No. 2 doubles. The Cobras earned a pair of default wins at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles, as well as a win at No. 5 singles by freshman Kayla Meermans (Pelion, S.C.), 6-1, 6-1 for the 5-0 win.

The Cobras will be back on the courts on Sunday at Lees-McRae. Match time is 10 a.m. at the Grandfather Mountain Country Club indoor courts.
