HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker junior women’s tennis player Alyssa Blanchard (Columbia, S.C.) earned a straight set victory at No. 1 singles with scores of 6-2, 6-1; but as a team the Cobras were unable to pick up a victory as they fell to nationally ranked No. 32 Wingate University 7-2 on Saturday afternoon.

Along with Blanchard’s singles victory, she was also part of Coker’s second victory of the day a win at No. 1 doubles. Blanchard and partner Stephanie Medley (Sumter, S.C.) picked up the 9-8 victory in their doubles match winning the tie-breaker set 11-9.

The Cobras will be back on the courts on Sunday for their final Conference Carolinas match of the regular season at home against Mount Olive College starting at 3:00 p.m.
