DUE WEST, S.C. – The Coker women’s tennis team suffered their first loss of the season on Saturday afternoon , falling to Conference Carolinas foe Erskine College 9-0.

The Cobra women battled hard against a very tough Erskine team, but Coker was unable to pick up a victory. The best games of the match came at No.1 doubles and No.3 singles.

In No. 1 doubles Alyssa Blanchard (Columbia, S.C.) and Stephanie Medley (Sumter, S.C.) played the Fleets duo of Tessa Rheault and Britton Bignon to a 9-7 game to open the match. Then at No.3 singles Cora Berna (Torrevieja, Spain) narrowly lost to Abby O’Reilly 7-5, 6-4.

Coker returns to the courts on Tuesday, Feb. 22 when they host Lees-McRae in a dual match starting at 3:00 p.m. at the Coker Tennis Courts.
