HIGH POINT, N.C. – Coker College’s women’s tennis team has been picked seventh in the 2011 Conference Carolinas Coaches’ Preseason Poll that was released on Tuesday. Earning the top spot in the poll was Erskine College followed by Queens University of Charlotte and Lees-McRae College in second and third respectively.
This season the Cobra women are hoping to make to improve on last year’s results and make run for the Conference Carolinas Championship. Under the direction of first year head coach Tim Pleasant and with the help of an experienced squad they are hopeful they can make those dreams a reality.
Returning to the court this season are First Team All-Conference selection Alyssa Blanchard, senior Kendall Sigmon and juniors Stephanie Medley and Brittany Yando.
The Cobras first test of the season will come on Thursday, Feb. 3, as they travel to Newberry College to take on the Wolves in a dual match starting at 2:00 p.m.
