ANDERSON, S.C. – Alyssa Blanchard (Columbia, S.C.) picked up a pair of wins, but as a team the Lady Cobras were unable to come home with a victory, as they lost to Anderson University 7-2 on Saturday afternoon in Conference Carolinas women’s tennis action. The loss drops the Lady Cobras to 3-10 overall and 1-5 in conference play.

Blanchard’s win at No. 1 singles gives her six in a row, and improves her record to 7-6 in singles play. She won 6-3, 6-3 over Anderson’s Angie Solorzano. Then in doubles play, Blanchard and partner Stephanie Medley (Sumter, S.C.) won 8-4 at No. 1 doubles to improve their doubles record to 7-6, while also giving themselves three straight wins.

The Lady Cobras will now prepare for their next match on Thursday, April 1, when they travel to Banner Elk, N.C. to take on Lees-McRae College in a conference match starting at noon.
