Due West, SC- No.24 Erskine women’s tennis expanded their Conference Carolinas winning streak to 57 Tuesday afternoon as they coasted by Coker College 7-2.  Erskine is now 10-6 overall and 6-0 in the conference for the season.

The Fleet opened the day with a close loss at #1 doubles as the Erskine duo of Bignon/Knox fell to Lemar/Blanchard 9-8 (7-5).  But the Fleet took the hit in stride and went on to easily win the remaining doubles points.

Despite two close games at #2 and #3, Erskine dominated singles play.  At #2, Erskine’s Bignon had a tough time with Blanchard of Coker but was finally able to put her away after a long close match (6-4, 2-6, 7-6 {10-8}).  Erskine’s Rollins was not as lucky as she fell to Spencer at #3 singles (7-5, 7-6 {7-4}) forfeiting the only point for the Fleet during singles play.

Erskine will return to play this Friday as they host Limestone College at 3:00 PM.
