Anderson, SC- The lady Cobras took on Anderson University today away at Anderson South Carolina. The Doubles matches were played first and the Lady Cobras wanted to get an early lead. Cassidy Spencer and Lindsay Crighton scored the first victory for the Cobras at number three doubles winning 8-4. Rachel Lemar and Jill Smith also picked up a victory for the Cobras as they battled to a 9-7 victory. Anderson did take one of the doubles to make it 2-1 to the Cobras going into Singles.

 

Coker took two early victories as Andrea Santos played well to beat T Lawler 6-3, 6-4. Jill Smith added a second victory at number four singles to make them one singles win away from victory. Smith played smart tennis from the baseline to win her match 6-0, 7-6. Anderson picked up two three wins as the battled past the Lady Cobras at numbers three, five and six.

 

Rachel Lemar sealed the victory for the Cobras at number two singles. Lemar attacked the net from the beginning of the match and edged past A Redfern 7-5 in the first set. The second was close much like the first and the set headed into a tie break. Lemar again stuck to her game plan as she attacked the net to take the breaker 7-5 and win the match for the Cobras.

 

This takes the Cobras to 8-6 on the season and 4-2 in conference play. The Cobras next match is this coming Tuesday at 3pm against North Greenville.
